Sports Injuries

Everyday life can be quite challenging if you’ve suffered from a sports injury or have relentless back pain. These types of injuries make it difficult to perform simple tasks and they hurt; in addition, back injuries can keep you sidelined for a long time while you recover. If left unchecked, spinal injuries can get severe, and underlying spinal misalignment can leave you susceptible to re-injury.

The good news is our expert chiropractor Dr. Cinnamon Claudio at Triangle Spine Center can help restructure your spine so that you can get back to living a full, healthy life. At Triangle Spine Center we have years of experience handling spinal injury and we’ve helped many athletes and fitness enthusiasts recover from serious back problems and continue to live productively while still doing what they love.

Treatment depends on a number of factors including the specifics of the condition, the patient’s age and general health: and we may help relieve pain and restore flexibility without the use of invasive surgery or painkillers.

Different Types of Sports Injuries

A sports-related injury may occur as a result of two factors; overuse or hard trauma. One common example is whiplash from a football tackle-something most elite athletes have experienced at least once. When a player gets tackled by an opponent, the head may swing to one side with enough force to strain the neck muscles and shift the cervical vertebrae out of position.

When this happens, cervical disks tend to bulge or herniate, and this almost always results in severe headaches and neck pain. Similarly, a strong and sudden jolt to the lumbar spine can cause such a misalignment to occur, and the end result can be severe back pain, numbness, sciatica and disc problems.

Overuse Injuries

Overuse injuries are commonly associated with the joints. Some of the more common types include tennis and golfer’s elbow where the muscle or tendon inflammation occurs on the inside of the elbow for tennis players and on the outside of the arms for golfers. Injuries are expected to occur due to the constant swinging of the racket or club and measures have to be taken to ensure minimal damage occurs.

Different joint injuries may occur from regular impact when jumping or running- especially in cases where a slight misalignment already exists in the joint. Most runners have knee problems from repeated stress which causes injury to the knee cartilage. Additionally, the feet can also sustain injury as the connective tissue on the foot gets strained from overuse.

If you have any of these problems it is advisable that you seek immediate medical assistance to prevent further damage to your joints. Dr. Cinnamon Claudio is available to take a look at your injury and prescribe the required treatment to make sure the joint doesn’t get worse over time.

A simple spinal misalignment can lead to severe injury if left untreated. The body gets thrown off-balance and that puts undue pressure on one side of the body, and as long as the underlying balance remains, you will be susceptible to injury.

We have the expertise to perform medical adjustments and return your body to its right balance. If you have pain in your neck, back, elbow, wrist, knee, hip, ankle or foot, and you’ve experienced migraines, that could be a sign of something serious.
